Thousands of Americans and Canadians are relocating to Spain every year.
Between 2019 and 2021, the number of American expats living in Spain rose by 13%, and Americans are moving to Spain for many more reasons than just lowering their living expenses.
Americans and Canadians are choosing to settle down in Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, and Andalusia, Spain's most southern region on the Iberian peninsula.
With all the issues in North America, including sky-high real estate prices, unaffordable healthcare, problems with school, and increasing crime rates, moving to Spain makes more sense than ever.
To your success,
Gerald Summer
Spain is known for its outstanding work-life balance. Spaniards love to spend quality time with friends and family.
Spain is home to some of the best cuisines and wines in the entire world.
Spain is one of the safest countries in Europe, where violent crime is almost unheard of. The most some expats have to deal with are noise complaints.
Guns are illegal in Spain. Special permits are available to those who wish to own a firearm. Mass shootings don't happen in Spain like they do in America.
In Spain, foreigners can own 100% of the land their home is built on and 100% of their residential properties.
So you are in a much better position to buy property in Spain than if you were to purchase property in Thailand or the Philippines.
As of 2023, a Spanish passport gets you access to over 192 countries and territories.
While it does take years of residency to obtain Spanish citizenship, once you have it, you can say that you have one of the best passports in the world.
Spain doesn't enforce citizenship-based taxation.
As a foreigner, you can own 100% of a company in Spain. You don't need a local partner to start a company in Spain.
Knowing you can and will be in charge of your company provides peace of mind.
