Over the past 4-years, I've spent several months per year in Mexico. Out of all the countries I considered, Mexico was one of the countries that reached the top of the list, and here's why:
Mexico's immigration policies are some of the most liberal in the entire world.
Not only can you become a citizen after a few years of residency and history in the country, but Mexico also allows you to own land and companies there.
Given the challenging times we're living in right now, I feel like Mexico offers a good chunk of what most people are looking for, namely, liberal immigration policies, friendly locals, diverse climates and locations, dating opportunities for Western men, and relatively good healthcare in the major cities.
To your success,
Gerald Summer
Many of our clients choose Mexico residency because of the proximity to home. Imagine how comfortable it will be working from the same time zone and being just a short flight away from family. Of course, you can always drive your car across the border if you want to.
Mexico is an immigrant country with a proven track record of liberalism. As a resident of Mexico, you enjoy full reciprocity in terms of civil and property rights, meaning you're treated equal with citizens.
Liberalism is the cornerstone of immigrants whose goal is to establish themselves in a foreign country.
In Mexico, foreigners can own 100% of the land their home is built on and 100% of their residential properties.
So you are in a much better position buying property in Mexico than if you were to buy property in Thailand or the Philippines.
As of 2023, a Mexico passport gets you access to over 162 countries and territories. While a Mexican passport is less branded than an EU passport, it still gives you access to more countries than most other passports worldwide.
After 5-years of consistent residency, you can apply for Mexican citizenship. Many countries require 5-10 years of living in the country before you can apply for citizenship.
As a foreigner, you can own 100% of a company in Mexico. You don't need a local partner to start a company in Mexico. Each company needs one resident director, which will be you, but you are not required to have a Mexican partner.
Whether you want to open an ice cream shop or a marketing agency, you can do that without a Mexican director. This provides peace of mind, knowing you can and will be in charge of your company.
