Territorial Tax System
Under its territorial tax system, Paraguay does not tax its residents on overseas income. E.g., You used your Irish company to pay yourself a $200,000 salary in 2025. With Paraguayan tax residency, you would not pay taxes on your salary.
Income generated abroad is not taxed in Paraguay. This is a distinct advantage that not too many countries on this planet offer at the moment.
Liberalism
Paraguay is an immigrant country with a proven track record of liberalism. As a resident of Paraguay, you enjoy full reciprocity in terms of civil and property rights, meaning you're treated equal with citizens.

Property Ownership
In Paraguay, foreigners can own 100% of the land their home is built on and 100% of their residential properties.

3-years of residency is enough to apply for Paraguayan citizenship. Some countries require 5-10 years of residency before you can apply for citizenship. The shortened path to citizenship is yet another big advantage that speaks for Paraguayan residency.
100% Company Ownership
As a foreigner, you can own 100% of a company in Paraguay. This means that you don't need a local partner to start a company in Paraguay. Each company needs one resident director, which will be you, but you are not required to have a Paraguayan partner.

What's the processing time?
Once your application has been submitted to the relevant government department, it usually takes 90 days for your application to get approved. In some cases, it could take slightly longer.
Are there any additional costs?
The above fees are for one applicant only. They do not include citizenship or company incorporation services.
*The Cedula application is included in our One-Trip and Fast-Track packages. If you choose the Plan B package, you may apply for your Cedula after your Paraguay residency has been approved.
How soon can I apply for citizenship?
Once you've legally resided in the country for at least 3-years (183+ days per year), you can apply for citizenship.
